Eye Trauma Clinic

Capacity for comprehensive ophthalmological care with an emphasis on Ocular Trauma, offering high quality and efficiency in each of its areas. Located in the National Ophthalmology Unit and the Roosevelt Hospital, carrying out multidisciplinary management in the ophthalmological and systematic area.

ACHIEVEMENTS ACHIEVED AS A CHIEF OF EYE TRAUMA

Ocular trauma was managed by the Chief of Residents who was in charge of deferring to the different subspecialties.
2007 se separates the trauma clinic from the anterior segment by creating its own file
2008The clinic is physically detached to its current location
2009The work plan is formally presented to be included in the teaching program.
2011 Firma of the agreement with the Ministry of Health in which free treatment is given to patients with ocular trauma.
2012Ahmed valves are exonerated
2013Corneal transplants are waived
2015Ocular prostheses are exempted for low-income children and adults.
2016Advanced technology contact lenses, iris and sclera fixation intraocular lenses are exempt.

LIABILITY AS A HEAD OF EYE TRAUMA

• Maintain a disciplined, united, honest and efficient team at the Ocular Trauma clinic.
• Encourage the Resident doctor in training to put into practice his clinical criteria, as well as his surgical capacity in the different areas of the Ocular Trauma clinic.
• Diagnose the individual's state of health or illness in an accurate and timely manner with the use of adequate diagnostic resources.
• Determine, indicate and apply, the therapeutic management to the individual, in a precise, timely, coherent, pertinent manner and with the use of scientifically recognized and current therapeutic tools.
• Determine the need and the most favorable type of rehabilitation for the individual, in order to reincorporate the subject to their activities and reduce the sequelae.

Care is provided to patients of any age and gender.

HOURS OF ATTENTION

They are attended 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
